Song lyrics are intertwined in my life everywhere I go, from singing “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” with my 3 yr old to singing “Bohemian Rhapsody” wondering where it come from as there is no radio or TV on. Just a tune in my head…
I want to dedicate this site to all the beautiful, entrancing, heart-aching, powerful lyrics we hear everyday and the amazing song writers behind them.
Here are some poetic words from on of my favorites, Rachael Yamagata:
“It’s a choice to stay
It’s a dream yeah and I wanna wake
You have blood on your hands and I’m feeling faint
And honey yeah, you can’t decide”
I was just listening to this song so I will start with off with Rachael. The song is “Sunday Afternoon” and a gripping song of raw emotion. Take a listen.
What song do you have in your head? What lyrics can you sing with no radio or what have you heard today that you can not get out of your head. I would LOVE to hear it.

I’ve always loved how your love of music has sat outside the realm of pop and rock. I don’t think I’d love half of the music I that I do if it were not for you.
I’m not sure (right at this minute) what song I can recite over and over – but I know that I get in these moods where no kind of top 40 music will do and I turn to artists like Natalie Merchant, Tori Amos, and most recently Missy Higgins. I turn to them for the soulfulness of their music, the honesty and rawness of their words.
So glad to see you blogging! Welcome to my crazy but wonderful world!
